Cumbrian Easter

' Sometimes in snows in April' said good old Prince many Aprils ago. Well, it did this year up Cumbria way. Still, Spring comes; the little lambs (cute) and the cowslips.

don't look back!!!

kind regards to Proton Persona

The Liver Birds

Oh joy! went to see the present Champions of Europe play a league game against Bolton over Easter. Well, the footy game wasn't great (1-0 to the 'pool), but the Liver birds!....
And check it out, how many are nosshing up big time on burgers/pies/chips pre-match, and t'was the same after the game too.

Sauf'en'-on -Sea

ah, when i was a young un', i remember days like these. The seaside two miles walk away; losing all my coppers on the slot machines. All great!

musings on museum

well, was down london way over easter break and as i love museums.... (was in the natural history AND science AND Victoria & Albert!!!)
of interest for me:a rock (crystal really) that 'glows' under UV light; some fine symmetry from mughal times out of india; RJ Mitchell (designer of the Spitfire) - of interest is the sculpture, it's made from water-worn slate pebbles; a very funny pic of mamma polar bear not waiting for her offspring as she's hungry and food? it's 40 miles away to broken pack ice.
and i found some who are struck by museums even more than me, kids.

St.Patrick's.2006

Lots of people talking, (hi neil!) but noone to me.
So i went dancing, and nobody would join me.
iwonderwhy?

Fourtunate One!

Life is so very, very short. So, to celebrate one, Finola's, led to special days at the end of July last year. I know a fool who missed it. I think we can see above those who knew not to miss 'great days', and the tales of the clan O'Brien.

a late spring

these are pics of climbing up Helvellyn, a very impressive 'hill' in the lake district. It was so cold that the lake near the summit was frozen. The pics look devoid of other people, but i'd say there were nearly a 100 folk climbing this day in early march

home fires burning

most of the family, over christmas-time.
the last pics are of the kids' school play.
jack and the beanstalk, all performed in irish!

sunsets&sandgrains

frost and sunset in Kildare.
beaches of donegal
and monumental art of Strabane.

a cold winter

it's been so very wintery thru november and into december. Frost and snow, icicles and blue skies. The knives of ice forming on blades of grass near to Skiddaw mountain being the most extreme of the cold seen so far. Colder it will get i feel
